Talk by Doctor Carlos de Sola at Echamendi School in Marbella

Thursday, 11st November 2021 – Renowned digestive specialist, Dr Carlos de Sola, has this week given a talk to pupils at the Francisco Echamendi school in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella, as part of the initial motivation for the science project, “The Great Machine”.

From the next few weeks, the students of the three cycles of primary school of this bilingual school, through this new Natural Sciences project, will learn about the functioning, systems and organs of the human body.

Accompanied by some very important characters that have focused the attention of both the younger and older students, we refer to the stomach, liver, oesophagus, intestine, pancreas, among other members of the digestive system, the former director of Hospital QuirónSalud Marbella and current medical director of the Humanline Sotogrande Clinic, has motivated students to discover the great machine that is their own body and the importance of food and good healthy habits to preserve and maintain it in perfect condition. And more in their case, to grow healthy and strong.

The students took advantage of the moment, of being so close and in such a pleasant way with a real doctor, to express some of their concerns and ask him their own medical questions. They have told him about their tummy aches, bruises on their limbs, and even the dreaded colds and sore throats.

They have been so delighted in the doctor’s company that they have not hesitated to confess to him their dreams of future professionals when they grow up, some of them imitating him, being doctors for the simple purpose “of being able to help others”, they have expressed to Carlos de Sola who has been delighted with this response from the children, who are clear that the function of health workers is to care for and heal people. Let’s give them the opportunity to enjoy these days as real doctors.
