Monday, August 8, 2016 – Dr. Carlos de Sola launches into writing with a book of short stories under the title ‘La oficina del Estómago’, full of stories and anecdotes of his day to day life as a digestive specialist doctor.
A publication that brings together funny moments from the extensive professional career of De Sola, who has lived in Marbella for more than 20 years, and whose author’s profits will go 100% to research into inflammatory bowel diseases.
The Hospital Real de la Misericordia de Marbella, better known as the ‘Hospitalillo’, will host the official presentation of the work, published by Algorfa, next Wednesday, 10th August, at 19:00 hours, which will be given by Jesús Quintero.
The public event, which will take place in the emblematic building located in the historic centre of Marbella, is free to attend until full capacity is reached.
Born in La Línea de la Concepción (Cádiz), Dr. Carlos de Sola is a doctor of recognised prestige who, in addition to his speciality as a digestologist, has held other positions of responsibility in hospital management. Thus, after being the head of the Hospital Quirón Marbella, he is currently the director of the Hospital Humanline Banús.
La oficina del estómago’ contains 24 chapters in which the author relates, in an easily intelligible and entertaining language, sprinkled with his native Cádiz wit, a series of personal experiences that sometimes lead him to philosophise and look into other areas of knowledge such as Health Education, Sociology, Cognitive Psychology, Ethics or “Futurology”, rational and well-founded, about the changes that, in his opinion, are coming in medical practice.
